Text Box: What’s it like to grow up in Africa as part of a missionary family?  How do you land a plane on an airstrip with a hill and valley?  How do you take the gospel to people whose language you do not speak?   Find out  on  July  8th  6 p.m. when Jonathan Blomberg, a cousin of  Diana  Camp, will be our mission speaker.  Jon is a pilot Text Box: with Mission Aviation Fellowship who expects to be serving in the Democratic Republic of the Congo when he has completed language school.
The evening includes a special dinner menu planned around African flavors and favorites.  Thanks to Adair and Diana for the preparation.

Martin to serve on Food Bank Board

Joan Martin has been appointed by our Session to serve as Marcus Whitman’s representative  to the Des Moines Area Food Bank Board of Directors.  Joan has

been a  volunteer on the Food Bank line for several years so she knows the needs and  the organization.  Joan will help us know how we can best help the food bank.     This summer the  Food Bank and Parkside school

will be providing lunches to low income children at two sites in the area. They need  lunch bags,  individual containers of  fruit , juice and nutritional snacks such as raisins,  energy bars.  Money is also welcome.   Let’s keep the  blue barrel full!
