Saltaire Community has been meeting quarterly in our fellowship hall to talk about community needs and problems. As a part of the community, church members are invited to attend.
Kent and Des Moines want to know how you feel about developing your city. What should Midway look like? How do you feel about housing, retail, office or entertainment options? What about transportation possibilities? Your voice can be heard if you attend one of the following meetings:
July 9 Workshop
Holy Trinity Lutheran "Church

Government bodies don’t always ask for the opinions of their citizens. Let’s encourage them to do it again by responding.
Emergency Preparedness Workshop
Saturday April 26, 2008 10 a.m.- Noon
COULD YOUR HOME SURVIVE A DISASTER ?
Most people will be on their own for hours or days in the event of an earthquake, tsunami, or even severe wind storm. First responders are limited. It will take time before they can get to you.
You can learn how to make your home and family ready for this on April 26th from 10 a.m. to noon. The entire neighborhood is invited to the emergency preparedness seminar sponsored by our Outreach Commission.
Activities planned include:
What to expect from the police and fire departments
Demonstrations on making your home more safe
A nurse will talk about first aid needs and techniques
How can you plan for food
Getting to know your neighbors
We tend to think of emergencies as huge earthquakes or tsunamis, but the problems brought about by less severe events happen much more frequently and in smaller areas. To those living in the middle the disaster is just as severe. This seminar is aimed at making us more self sufficient, and less susceptible to damage we could avoid.
